Taking Care of your FLEXIT Running Gear :
- Inspect, check, and replace, if necessary, the Top Sub Assembly and Bottom Sub O-rings. Use Silicone Lubricant for long-life and good sealing.
- Clean all threads on Top Sub Assembly, Bottom Sub, and Barrel with wire brush and degreasing agent.
- Keep the internal diameter of the barrel clean and dry.
- Re-grease all threads after cleaning.
- Keep pressure barrel exterior clean, store in carrying case.
- Fit barrel plugs and avoid accidental damage to threads.
Your best insurance for trouble-free operation and long life is Regular Preventative Maintenance – make a service schedule and keep to it.
Make sure you :
- Only use a minimal amount of recommended silicone-based O-ring Grease on O-rings and threads.
- Never use a Pipe Wrench on the Pressure Barrel. FLEXIT can supply an approved barrel wrench as an extra option.
- Only tighten Barrels by hand; do not use a wrench. The O-rings provide the necessary friction to maintain the joint, as well as sealing the Barrel from ingress of external fluid. Check the condition of the O-rings every time you joint the assembly condition.
- Use the correct sized Pressure Barrel for the on-going survey operation.
