Epiroc USA LLC is currently recruiting a Drilling Solutions Product and Application Specialist for Blasthole. Our Drilling Solutions (ADS) business, develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of blasthole drills for use in the aggregate, Construction and mining markets. The Product and Application Specialist is expected to be the technical and application expert on the product and market segments they serve.  This role will partner with the Epiroc Product Companies (PC’s) to ensure that product availability aligns with customer expectations and that current and future customer product needs will be communicated promptly to the Product Companies.

This dynamic role will take on the ownership and accountability of the Blasthole product line for the mining and construction segments.  You will partner with the Epiroc Product Companies (PC’s) to ensure that product availability aligns with customer expectations and that current and future customer product needs will be communicated promptly to the Product Companies. Working closely with the Automation Business Growth Manager, PSD and RDT Product and Application Specialists to take a customer-centric approach to success in the market. In this role, you will define and communicate the value of products to the sales force and to the market to ensure Epiroc secures a premium price position wherever possible. This presents an exciting opportunity to be a strategic thinker dedicated to enhancing the Surface Division.

The work environment includes being regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds and is occasionally required to lift up to and in excess of 100 pounds. Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate the value of products to the sales force and to the market to ensure Epiroc secures a premium price position wherever possible
  • Develop case studies demonstrating the value of technology and products to customers
  • Work in partnership with Marketing Communications to develop sales and marketing tools, materials, and required trainings to use in the sales process (i.e. technical documentation, product specifications, etc.)
  • Participate in new product development programs including voice of the customer research
  • Research competition and provide product analysis on request (performance, range, capabilities)
  • Collaborate with the Automation team on Machine + Automation opportunities as well as the Rock Drilling tools and Parts and Service team for bundling opportunities
  • Collect and interpret information on present and future customer demands
  • Identify and report/suggest any quality issues and activities that would improve our products and reduce warranty related expenses
  • Coordinate the exposure of assigned products in the marketplace via trades shows, demos, advertising, etc.
  • Develop and communicate strategic market pricing and sales support in partnership with the sales team and product companies
  • Ensure acceptable levels of sales profitability are achieved on all deals while working within approved pricing discount structure
  • Work closely with the technical training department, company service centers, and partner network to ensure all training needs are met
  • Assist the sales organization as needed with customer business development and/or product performance issues
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 50%, for purposes of customer visits and product testing/validation, training, lead generation, shows, conferences, factory interaction, etc.
  • Manage the Order to Delivery process for the Customer Center with the Product Company
  • Host Customer visits to our Factory in Garland, Texas

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or similar Engineering related discipline is preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical related experience in the mining or construction field is highly preferred
  • Strong mechanical/technical background is required for issue resolution & reasoning/discussing “root cause analysis” with customers
  • Effective communication skills, including presenting information and responding to inquiries from Epiroc management and internal/external customers is required
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Advanced training in computer aided maintenance systems, reporting, databases, and spreadsheets are preferred qualifications
  • Proficient level skills in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Possess a valid/active driver’s license
  • Must be available to travel extensively as needed
  • Maintain current US Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration required training certificates, and keep up to date with all customer-specific site safety requirements
  • Compliant with Department of Transportation policies regarding service vehicles and trailers
  • Preferred location for this role is in Garland, TX near our ADS Factory or in Broomfield, CO near our Headquarters but consideration will be given to candidates who are within an hour's drive from a US-based International Airport
  • Travel is expected, amount will be dependent on employee location relative to the US service centers, dealers, and customer locations, with both driving and air as the primary modes, though mainly the domestic US
