The Exploration and Geosciences team based in Vancouver is happy to announce the sale of a CS160 to Drilling 518, a drilling company based in Manitoba. The company serves the specific needs of the mineral exploration and works closely with its clients to achieve their goals.
518 Drilling is looking forward to the arrival of the drill as they are seeing a lot of technology being deployed to the mineral exploration industry but the drilling rigs to date have not advanced as quickly in comparison to other drilling applications, including data collection, automation, driller operated gyro tools as well as Starlink WIFI on all of their equipment. When given the opportunity to be a leader in adopting a drill rig with unique and innovative features, the company felt it would attract drillers who want to be a part of the change within the industry as well as customers who see the benefit in technology, transparency and real time data from the machine itself.
518 Drilling told us they chose the CS160 as it offered several functions that they didn’t have on any other drills in their fleet. They appreciated the automatic rod pulling, tube retrieval as well as tube pumping that allows the driller to have some mental rest and also have time to complete training and mentorship to their assistants. They mentioned that instead of the crews having to perform routine functions, this technology can consistently and safely repeat functions such as rod pulls and retrieve core samples etc. 518 Drilling is focused on changing the way drillers do their work to eliminate operator error and potential injury due to repetitive tasks. This will be accelerated using the CS 160.
They chose Epiroc as it has stood the test of time within the industry and will be there to fulfill their needs as they grow their fleet with both surface and underground drilling applications.
