There is a lot of negative news circulating, so we thought it would be a good time to launch a new, free guide available now for download. Our newest publication is the Diamond Drillers’ Guide to Extending Core Bit Life. It provides a lot of information and advice on how to get the most life out of your core bit. We touched upon this topic a while ago in a blog, but this guide has a lot more information that has been requested often since we wrote the blog.
Getting the longest life possible for your core bit is key if you want to run a productive and profitable drilling operation. Changing a drill bit takes time especially the farther down the hole it is, and the time spent replacing a bit is not useful. This new guide discusses the importance of choosing the right matrix and configuration, how to handle and take care of your bits including some common mistakes and the role of drilling parameters. The guide also explains how to sharpen core bits and how to troubleshoot matrix wear patterns. Finally, the importance of using drilling additives is also discussed.
